DripplesDripples (drops n' ripples) attempts to invite a relook at our current definitions, at what we know and don't know, of our selves, at health and of life itself, and perhaps have a perspective that is new.

Each of us have several dimensions by which we function as an organism - biological (which in itself has several aspects to it -physical, intellectual, energetic, spiritual, existential); psychological (which in itself has several aspects to it - psychosocial, emotional); ethical (conscientious). Our experience of living is a consequence of these dimensions interacting and play out in our everyday life and living. If we consider each of our aspects as a 'body' in itself denoting that aspect, then we have a tissue body (i.e. a body made of different kinds of tissues, so we could have a muscle body, a nerve body, a vascular body, fascia body, etc.); a body that is made of fluid (fluid body, i.e. blood and lymph); a body that is just breath; a body that is just emotions, an intellectual body (i.e. a body that comprises only of that which a person has come to be in the know of or has thought out amongst all that there is to know of and exists as information out there in the world); a body that is just the spirit or zeal of living; a body that is just space (or the space that a person occupies in all the space there is to occupy in the world); a body that is consciousness (of which conscious, subconscious, unconscious are subaspects); a knowing body (or an aspect of us that just knows things without perhaps any logical reasoning of how one knows such things); a body that is still (as an untouched moutain lake). Each of these bodies interact/coordinate with each other, much like how the internal mechanism of a clock coordinates so that the hour needle and second needle of the clock synchronise and function as one unit. Much like how the different wheels inside a clock has different dimensions, the different aspects of us as a living being has different rhythms. Some rhythms are 8 to 10 second cycles, some are 24 to 40 second cycles, some are 100 second cycles, and each of these 'wheels' coordinate and play out in their own time but interact multirhythmically, multidimensionally in intricate ways having us function as one unit - one organism. (each of us are quite simply complex!). Over and above that, each of our make is unique. Meaning, how your body is organized could be entirely different from how your neighbor's body is organized (even though the broad basic make is the same - our blueprint has 2 arms, 2 legs, 1 head, 1 trunk, 1 brain with 2 hemispheres, etc, and are made up of tissues of different kinds but essentially you and I have the same kinds of tissues), which is why you may be more bony (skinny/plump/curvy/muscular/taller/hot or cool bodied) than your neighbor.
In optimal health, these bodies harmoniously dynamically interact with each other. In dis-ease/ill-health, there is predominance of one or more bodies and sometimes a 'stuckness' in one or more bodies so that the different bodies do not 'speak' well with each other, which hinders healthy, creative, constructive evolution of the individual. Given that our different aspects interact dynamically, Body intelligence therapy (or biodynamic craniosacral therapy) works under the philosophy that given the given the right relationship and with enough resources, the intelligence in the body will choose the best way to heal and grow. An exceedingly gentle touch being its only therapeutic tool manages to have a person feel safe and to experience having enough space in which the different 'bodies' of the individual can adjust/reorganise amongst themselves intelligently and come into a newer state of organization, and consequently a newer/better level of health in the individual.

The sessions are client-led, meaning that the client's system sets the pace of the treatment in accordance with what the client's system is ready to process. Consequently, an issue that may seem recent may have come about from long periods of smaller compromises that then becomes significant enough to be a 'diagnosed' condition. All those smaller compromises would then need to be addressed before true/deep/complete healing can happen. BCST, hence, is organic in its therapeutic approach and process. It does not fix a problem but rather biodynamically allows for the client's system to organically evolve from a difficulty into a better state of health and wellbeing.
Knowing-seeing-thinking-feeling handsA space that is beyond known points of reference that comes about from having encountered spaces sufficient enough number of times that familiarity brings in a sense of knowing because the nervous system has been there before enough times and now recognizes the landscape. It is not the slow 1+1=2 logic anymore but intuition (automated logic that has come about from repeatedly putting one and one together) and is a space that is at the frontier between the known and the unknown, where the 'unknown' is the open space of the mysterious that has its resonance in the known but is like the missing pieces of a jigsaw puzzle that is yet to be put together, only that this is a jigsaw puzzle whose location in time and space, and hence the how/where, is yet to be determined. When someone is in training to recognize spaces/textures/sensations and the hands are the tools of trade, then there comes a point where the hands begin to become knowing-seeing-thinking-feeling hands. |
