The opinions expressed here are my attempts to word through my work, not necessarily that of my peers/seniors in the discipline of BCST, which forms the baseline of this work, in describing the work or the 'how' of it. Also, the answers here are from my current experience and ability to wordthrough my work and would be updated with time.
(NOTE: This page is work in progress, so kindly excuse not finding answers to questions you may have as the FAQs are in drafting stage. Kindly contact me with any questions you may have and I will be glad to respond as soon as I can. Tnx.) Note Note: I used to call my Work Body Intelligence Therapy since my Work includes practices also from other modalities of healing arts to the foundation of BCST, and had to name it differently to distinguish it from fBCST or functional BCST. I then named my Work Meristem Intelligence seeing how this Work enabled individuality and finesse and the phrase, Meristem Intelligence, fit best to describe what was getting facilitated. Kindly excuse the FAQs here referring to Body Intelligence Therapy. I am still in the process of formatting/updating several aspects of this website. Will straighten out discrepancies as soon as I can get quick with my priority list. Thank you for your kind patience.

What is this Work about? What is Body Intelligence vis-a-vis Meristem Intelligence?
Wholesomeness is the subject matter of this solicitation. In Vedic and other religious texts of antiquity, this Wholesomeness has been referred to as Self/Khuda/Yahweh. (The idea/concept of this Self/Khuda/Yahweh is as an omnipresent, omnisient, light of knowing that is a loving, welfare-concerned presence that is concerned with healthy development and evolution of the Universe and all that is in it). It is a systematic method of inquiry into, what could be called as Livingology – science of living – which is distinct from the facts and factors that constitutes life (microcosm) and Life (Macrocosm) as separate players. The method may be called the ‘Way of the Infinite’ or nth Way Work, where Gurdjieff’s Fourth Way Work seems to be the predecessor of this Work that is Nirbeeja Yoga™ and Nirbeeja Yoga™ is at the heart of a larger paradigm or dimension of what there is to be inquired about and thought of in understanding and being a part of All That There Is. (All That There Is would be the equivalent of the Theory of Everything or the Unified Field, which will be written about as understood through my Work in a subsequent FAQ.)
Meristem Intelligence® is a way-of-living method in the Theory of Everything or Unified Field in a way that ongoingly unifies the Field and thereby is a daughter/son of the Whole who keeps things together as well as functions as a seed is supposed to be behaving in a forest - part of the Whole and is the Whole because the movement from seed to tree is from incorporating the Whole in the heart of the movement. So, thinking for the Whole, being the Whole and moving as part of the Whole without getting lost in how things are or have been and without disturbing how things are - to better how things are – so, thereby, being a seed that is better than the parents and ancestors. This is what it takes to make the Creator proud of having created us, individually as a species and individually as a person.
Body Intelligence is, in this purview, the common grounds in being part of the field of objects (as in entities that are organised into shapes and sizes), of the field of living organisms (as in objects that are animated), of the field of plants, of the field of animals, of the field of human beings as a species. Meristem Intelligence® is a further development from the concept of Body Intelligence as discerned above. It is the ground that makes a person a person – unique/peculiar vis-à-vis the collective - while having common grounds with forms of life and all that came before in the course of evolution and are contributory to how things are and the influences of, by, from and for life of the individual and Life at large, in appreciation of life and Life (smiles, warts, integrities, disturbances, contours, freckles, stretches, connections and all). It is an inquiry and consequence of inquiry into what it takes to move in Life without disturbing anything and yet making things better for us and generations to come.

What is bcst?
BCST is the acronym for Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. It is Life Science proper, meaning it is the science of life in a living organism (reading it as 'signs of life in a living organism' would not be incorrect either). It is the science of the 'forces' that organizes a living organism and has it functioning as one unit in no matter what state of wellbeing it is. In this approach to healthcare, if an organism has life, it has health. Period. And then it is in different states of wellbeing. It is the state of wellbeing that differs from person to person. BCST is a therapeutic approach in which the forces that organizes life is worked with to bring about better states of wellbeing.
Body Intelligence Therapy has been derived from BCST.

What do the terms Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy mean?
Biodynamic: Bio: Life; dynamic: Motion. Being in tandem motion with circumstances, stimulus, incoming information, challenges, etc., much like waltzing with life, where you are the lead and life your partner - 123, 123... Some call it phenomenological living. Here the entire physiology of a person's body is also in tandem movement constantly adjusting to the circumstances and besting it to be in charge. The one who can optimally move in accordance with life, has great sense of wellbeing (remember, again, that anybody who has life has health; it is only the state of wellbeing that differs from person to person).
Craniosacral: Cranium is the skull. Sacrum is the roughly triangular shaped sacral bone that can be located just above the tail bone or coccyx. The cranium and sacrum are the two ends of the axial body (read trunk of the body) connected by the spine/vertebral colum; other bones are strategically located around this axis or bony midline of the body. The idea being that the bony midline is the mechanical framework around which other tissues are attached/organized, both within and without, so working with these structures is in essence working with the whole body.
Therapy: A method of working that brings about relief of symptoms and facilitates movement from limitations.

What IS BODY INTELLIGENCE?
Body Intelligence is the organising principle in the body that intuitively dynamics the different intelligences of the body and has the organism function as one unit. It is an intuitive dynamism between emotional intelligence, intellectual intelligence, spiritual intelligence, kinesthetic intelligence, common sense (or sensorial) intelligence, hydraulic intelligence (considering that our bodies are largely fluid of some kind), electromagnetic (or piezoelectric) intelligence, quantum intelligence, etc. etc. ...just put whatsoever kind of intelligence you can think of...and body intelligence would be a spunky, spriteful highly efficient dynamism between all these intelligences (in a very healthy person). How spriteful/efficient the intelligence in a person's body is would be directly proportional to the degree of 'glide' between these intelligences without friction. Consequently, the body intelligence of a person could differ from another based on how well 'the machine is lubricated and maintained,' so to speak.
As body intelligence keeps getting better, it keeps getting closer and closer in harmony with the Breath of Life itself.
What is Breath of Life? Please look up for my understanding of it in the Q&A list. You could also watch the video by Mike Boxwell about the Breath of Life on the Gallery page on this website.

What is body intelligence therapy? (short answer)
1. Body Intelligence Therapy is a therapy which works with that which animates life in a living organism (vs an inanimate structure such as a table or chair which does not have this animating factor).
2. A very gentle touch is its only therapeutic tool. No medicines. No intervention. As health gets better, lab values are likely to get better, though you are not required to periodically check lab values for the therapy to work.
3. Healing happens at a pace that you are ready to handle the changes. There would be minimal to no pain during the session, and even if there is pain it would be at a level that you can handle without anesthesia. If there is pain after the session, it is most likely than not the pain similar to that of an athlete training after a long time has muscle soreness that would subside naturally OR your body is revolting your lack of movement because the body now re-remembers that it is designed to move and wants to move but your habits may not be as ideal as it should be to be healthy. Your body's intelligence will be in control of how the sessions progress. As sessions progress, your body system will keep getting more and more able to deal with challenging aspects of the healing. The experience of yourself and of life is highly likely to get better with this work.

WHAT DO YOU DO DURING A SESSION?
I practise and facilitate body intelligence in people.
I work with the intelligence in the body, which is a palpable rhythm, which simply put would be a state in between the manifest (read tissue or matter) and the unmanifest (read energy or the force that animate life). As a facilitator, I ensure to not break the integrity of the system in any way, which is quite easily possible by treating the body as though an object. The intelligence in the body behaves much like an amoeba in some respects. You allow it its space, dont judge or prescribe how things need to be or how things ought to function, then this living intelligence behaves like an organism with a mind of its own. Reminds me of the movie, Flubber, in which Robin Williams accidentally creates flubber, which is a living synthetic material, and then gets to learn who or what it is and how it behaves. In such a condition, I have observed that the living intelligence in the body goes to work, repairing/maintaining/resolving/evolving as the need may be.

What is breath of life?
The breath of life is what vivifies everything.
My answer here would be a cross between science and spirituality, and for a person with a science background as I have, it is difficult to articulate precisely because the language of science and that of spirituality are different and are yet to come together. (We probably also dont see eye to eye because of the lack of a bridge between the two). Kindly humor me as I attempt to wordthrough something that is not easy to articulate. (I will keep refining this answer in time but this is available for now)
So, here it goes..
Beyond the differences of physical appearance, there is something that animates life. Lets call it a consciousness that is like the ocean - it has its surface in which there are waves, a water body that has currents and an ocean depth that is quite solid but has characteristics, and none of these can be predetermined - you only get to know it as you interact with it, just like you would a stranger or any object for that matter. If you already know it, that ends the matter and any scope for it being anything other than what you know ends. The Breath of Life is like this consciousness.
We all know the Breath of life actually. How can we not know when we interact with life everyday? The problem is that we tend to formulae things - cause and effect formulaes. Our technologies, I dare say, have emerged from cause and effect studies and the means to learning the cause and effect, we call science which deals with facts and figures and relativities. But, science is also a method of inquiry into the unknown, to make sense of the unknown. It is just that our way of making sense is by putting things into boxes we know until such a point when it is deemed that the box that we have been putting things into does not really hold that which we are finding, and then we create another box and then begin to make sense by putting things into this new box, and then there are permutations and combinations between boxes so that we connect stuff from one box with stuff in another box and arrive at new conclusions, which is also the way the nervous system works - by synapsing and forming stories and thus make 'sense' of stuff, makes sense?
The Breath of Life has an intelligence whose intensity changes as the body's (or system's) intelligence evolves. Its intensity is dependent on the body's (or system's) experience of living. As the experience of living keeps getting better, the intensity comes closer to the Breath of Life of the person/system itself. Notice that I say body/system because the microcosm is the macrocosm and the microcosm can become the macrocosm as the microcosm evolves; they are all fractals, you see? Indian mythology would perhaps call it the jeevathma coming closer to the paramathma, but from what I am coming to understand, the paramathma is sort of unique to each person. It is the higher self of a person, and the higher self is like a citizen of a country. A country has many citizens and the citizens are governed by laws of the country governed by one main person, which basically would be like the President, which in this analogy would be the Greater Soul, in esoteric parlance. (I think the Greater Soul would be a citizen of an even bigger country governed by similar laws governed by one main person which would be the Great Great Soul, who in turn would be a citizen of an even bigger country....so basically a fractal, which means a pattern that repeats itself over and over again through different dimension of time and space).
The Breath of Life is responsive. If I talk to a person appropriately, the person is likely to respond and then depending on the response, we can have a conversation. The video here is from a movie, but I must say here that the scale is between a person and the Nature while there are many scales in between like person to person, person to animal, person to plants, person to a community/country, etc. etc. until you come to person-to-Universe. Being a child on the shores of the ocean of consciousness
I am a sceptical, seek-to-make-sense-of-things logical individual with a science education background. I could not make sense of what I was training with in the BCST school though I found stuff happening that did improve health so something was happening that I could not put 2 and 2 together. I then had to rethink of how I was making sense of things, and see that we humans tend to box-think (I mean put things into boxes and then arrive/derive from them. See above in paragraph 2 of this Answer), which is good, but that is not the end of story. End of story (or rather beginning of a new era) would be when we do come to a comprehensive Theory of Everything that is workable without there being clashes between the components that constitute the 'Everything' part of the Theory of Everything AND has scope for more info from the possible unknown to come fit with the Theory without disturbing things and yet allows for what could be and also allows for expansion. We, at present, for sure are clashing between, lets say the big boxes - science versus spirituality, religion versus religion, caste/culture versus caste/culture, country versus country. We all are typically expected to have 4 limbs, one head and one trunk and have the same basic necessities of food, water, shelter, companionship, but yet have sooo many clashes. So clearly we dont have our Theory of Everything yet that works for everybody! So, the Breath of Life, in my estimate, would be one of the necessary ingredients of the Theory of Everything in that it is the breath that allows for things to be without clashes. It has an expansion and contraction and periods of rest in between. It allows for life, the living breathing component that vivifies everything. The breath of life is everywhere; it is there in an idea (lets call the life of the idea), it is there in a person (the life of the person), it is there in a country (the life of the country that has things work, as against clashes and stuff when things are not working), it is there in a machine (as against when it is clogged or jammed when the machine is not working or the machine has no 'life'). It is there in the heart of everything. It has an inhalation/expansion and exhalation/contraction and periods of rest in between. It is a breath AND the breath of life has a spirit, by which I mean an energy with which things are done. Working with the Breath of Life is not about getting it and manipulating it and making it do stuff. It is coming to what is already there all the time. It specifically requires getting out of the formulaes or conversely introducing the unknown or Mystery to be part of the formula so that the unknown can inform, so this way we are not in a box but in an open field where there is stuff that is known and also there is space for the unknown and the two can interplay. I dare say that this would be a formula where the breath of life is constantly breathing without obstruction and things are working and continuing to work, and this is a formula that needs to be arrived at and can be arrived at with regular Body Intelligence Therapy sessions, I dare say). A human being can arrive at this formula but the Homo sapien (I prefer calling our species Homo sapien because a human being, in my estimate, is still in the making) in the current state of affairs is somewhere in between an animal and a machine, thinking that we are separate from nature, which is also evident from our behavior. Thinking we can survive without Nature through our many machines. We are simply clashing between ourselves and we can only extinguish ourselves thusly. We forget that we are part of a living planet. No living planet and it is a case akin to the movie, Wall-E. If no living, breathing Earth, then we will have to go in search of another planet that supports life. We, Homo sapiens, who fancy to call ourselves human beings have not arrived at being called human beings yet. A Human Being is a blessing on the planet. It is a fine masterpiece and we Homo sapiens have the potential for becoming Human Beings. We need to come to the Breath of Life. We need to live, not survive which is a cause and effect mode of existence. So, what is the Breath of Life? It is life.
The breath of life is also a reason for existence of something. Everything that exists has come into existence because of some reason, whether or not that reason is clear and whether or not there in cognitive understanding of the purpose for existence. So being in touch with ones own Breath of Life is also being in touch with ones existence in whatsoever manner. Existence can be in the labels of relationships we form with others (we exist as that relationship - as a father or sister or colleage; these are names of how we exist in the world). We also exist through the activities we indulge in, identities we assume, roles we play, but also more subliminally, we exist in the fate that is each person's lot (Fate here means the lot that one is born into howsoever the setup of life has been into which one is born and the circumstances and people who populate the world into which one was born into) and what is required of one given the set of circumstances one is born into or finds oneself in (this is what I understand as the Dharma of a person, for want of a better word). The value of our existence comes into effect from the activities one chooses to do (this is what I understand as the Karma of a person, for want of a better word). Being and working with the Breath of Life makes it possible for one to be the soul of the place one comes into being in, rather than being an object that circumstances play hockey or football with. Life and the quality of life for one and all evolves from working with the Breath of Life.
(With better clarity, I will update this answer in time).

How is body intelligence therapy beneficial?
- Enables people to 'be' in the world, not be on a constant lookout for an escape or preponderance on changing/fixing something but doing something about it, i.e. a likely shift from being a victim to in a way being in charge of one's life. You are likely to allow things to be as and how they are and yet be living, not surviving.
- Trauma tends be like having ones own personal hellfire in which the memories and emotions trapped within the system tends to play itself over and over, not just limiting but frying ones experience of living into a perpetual nightmare. Body intelligence therapy is more likely than not to bring relief from one's personal hellfire.
- Helps to unload the nervous system by discharging held in stress. This has the consequent benefit of being able to be resilient to life's challenges and in being able to deal with stress better without being bogged down by most of it.
- You could look younger, even feel younger, once some of the 'baggage' from the past has been unloaded through sessions and also from 'recharging of batteries' as tends to be a common occurrence during sessions...and that too without cosmetics :)
- (Now this is my favorite) You could develop your own language of expression that is uniquely You that redefines who you are in the world and what you bring into this Planet. (It is a pleasure to witness such expressions. Goosebumply. It is the bloom of a fresh flower whose blossom at its peak is yet to be seen. Awe-inspiring at the very least.)
(........and many more. This list will be updated in time)
- Trauma tends be like having ones own personal hellfire in which the memories and emotions trapped within the system tends to play itself over and over, not just limiting but frying ones experience of living into a perpetual nightmare. What are the salient features of Body intelligence therapy?
- You dont need to know the name of the disease or even know that there is a disease in the first place (a disease here, by the way, means a dis-ease - a lack of ease in any way at all that a person could experience - be it physical, emotional, cognitive, psychological, energetic, spirit-ual). A symptom is probably a sign of an imbalance somewhere, and that is all that is needed to alert. A session does the rebalancing work within the system whereever, whatever may be the cause, and come to better states of well-being, freer from the dis-ease through one or more sessions as the need may be. The work inherently allows the Intelligence of the body to work in accordance with the limitations set by the 'safety valves' in its conscious, subconscious and unconscious minds so that only that much information that each level of consciousness can handle alone comes through. In other words, each level of consciousness has a certain degree of 'elasticity' and things happening within that level would be termed 'tolerable.' A little unfamiliar information coming in at a time would be within the elasticity of a level of consciousness, and the system can 'digest' the new information and come to better states of understanding and health consequently. Beyond the level/threshold of tolerability, would unsettle the system. In this work, unknowns can be left as unknowns; they will become known when the system is ready to handle it and when the system is ready to handle it, it usually wont be too much to handle since the capacity/elasticity of the system would have already gotten better (as does regularly happen during sessions) and the 'batteries' would be recharged and hence the system would already be better equipped to handle what shows up. This is great news for those dealing with trauma. It is a nice way to come out of the hellfire, especially trauma that a person does not even know of.
- Better morphology. As limiting beliefs, distressing emotions, distress, unprocessed past experiences are unbaggaged, the ease and grace of living shows up and one who lives more easily tends to look more easy/relaxed/unstressed physically. As in the mind, so it is in the body!
- The body goes to work only on that which it is able to work on at a point in time and ready to work on at a point in time, and only to the extent that it can work on at a point in time. The therapeutic space of the session enables the body to go to work on what needs to be worked on. As the system becomes more able, more depth/layers is covered in working through an issue of concern. The working is always within the level of tolerance. It is the gentlest, kindest way to heal hence.
- The body works as a system (a conglomeration of many bodies that range from the gross/material to fluid to spacious to energetic to subtler bodies). The system works through an experience held in the system or through a pattern of experience held in the memory of the system that spans across time.
- Body Intelligence Therapy is different from Body Intelligence Practice though related, and can be quite exhaustive studies in themselves. The Therapy can enhance the benefit and effectiveness of Practice and visa-versa greatly.

wHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN tHERAPY AND pRACTICE? WHAT SHOULD A PERSON CONSIDER WHEN CHOOSING BETWEEN THEM?
"We each are a drop of the Ocean AND the Ocean in a drop." Therapy and Practice are means to discover this fact.
Therapy and Practice support and augment each other. The goal remains the same - to enable a person to live their own life to their fullest potential in harmony with the Universe and All That There is.
The difference between Therapy and Practice follows:
Therapy:
- On-the-table work.
- It is largely in silence with awareness, a gentle touch and nonviolence as the tools.
- It is the means to discover the Ocean within the drop of water that you and I are (our bodies are, afterall, 70% water!).
- It is the most organic means to clean the 'tissue house' and come to one's own rhythms. It is the most organic means to clear one's karmic baggage, flow into the life that is now, so that you can create work that is a salute and a gift to the Universe.
- It is the means to untangle stuff from the conscious, subconscious, unconscious realms which generally tend to cause distress/discomfort/dis-ease in the mind/body/energy/intellect/spirit of a person and is largely in the unknown or partially known realms of a person. Once stuff gets untangled, life flows more easily through the material of the person, the waters get clarified (considering that about 70% of our individual bodies are made up of water and consequent physiology) and the substance that a person is gets more refined and defined so that the person comes to their element and consequently better health and quality of living.
Practice:
- A chair would do; does not require a table or lying down, though it could be used if the person would rather lie down than sit.
- Largely using words and working with the thinking, feeling, sensing centers of the body.
- It is a means to discover the drop of the Ocean that you and I are. To discover the sound, color, tone, texture, movement, qualia that you are and to create the music/dance that you are in the Grand Orchestra of Life.
- It is a mindfulness practice. It is the means to cognitively recognize one's centers and engines and the unique make of the vehicle that a person is. It is also the means to appreciate the mechanism of the kind of vehicle that a person is and on how to best it. It also is a deliberation on the Path that a person deems worthy of Journeying in this lifetime and on how to maintain the vehicle of their body befitting that Journey.

What is the history of this work?
What is the history of this Work?
Dr. William Garner Sutherland (D.O.), an osteopath, discovered patterns of rhythms in the body that were over and above the known biological rhythms such as heartbeat and respiratory rhythms, and were more innate biological rhythms. He called these rhythms Cranial Resonance. From his observations and explorations arose the field of Biodynamic Therapy, which with subsequent contributions from other practitioners came to be called Biodynamic Craniosacral therapy (BCST). There is CST, which is a more mechanical form which involves more manipulation of tissues though involves working in tandem with biodynamic rhythms in the body, and then there is BCST, which is more biodynamic rhythms oriented though has a more functional application in that 'problematic' areas are addressed and rhythms worked with oriented towards resolution of presenting problems to restore function.
Following my training, I revisited what I studied, inquiring into the depths of what I thought I had learned to further understand the how and why and what of them so that I could better apply what I learned in my clinical practice and I found several questions that I had no answers to. I basically got to doing that because I was faced with several questions from my clients and I had no ready answer, so I 'researched' into finding answers. That led me to several schools of thought. I basically went out-of-the-box, a bit of an Alice-in-Wonderland explorations with my active imagination stringing together a wonderful story of mankinds attempt to get well and healthy and the several disciplines that came into existence in his attempt to make life better for himself and people around him. I could not but remember the kindness received myself in my own personal journey of Truth for I did hit the rock bottom at a point and asked aloud 'what the hell is reality?' and subsequently began my journey of discovering just that through various schools of transformational learning, phenomenological learning, self-explorations when answers were not found even upon asking for my questions so I had to go on 'treasure hunt' of sorts piecing together bits and pieces of information and putting the 'puzzle' together so that the mosaic of information of soo many kinds made some plausible sense. I had to figure out a way to allow for disparate thought streams and also to allow for answers which seemed to fit in the puzzle but the surrounding pieces were not in yet, so I had 'floating' information pieces that just had to wait long enough until the other pieces fell in place. And then also from time to time shake up the whole formed structure when some new information completely changes the meaning and coherence of all the facts that were coming together. It is a lot like putting lego pieces together, coz the pieces need to fit and they need to form a solid structure that will last. I did figure out that a lottt of our belief systems are like a lego structure that is pretty topsy-turvy and language is quite at the center of why that is so. The whole picture has not been able to be seen because of language barriers. Two people may be saying the same thing but with two different sets of vocabulary and fighting over the same thing with different parts of the meaning being discussed about. It is so funny. It is like the case of the blind men and the Elephant. Nobody is really seeing the Elephant, only parts of it and fighting that their part of the whole is the Whole. It is amusing but in a no ha-ha way because they get violent over their respective righteousness and then people get hurt. The things is even if I scream it out to them they dont get it because they are blind, in the sense that there is one or more perspective lacking due to which they cant see the fact that is right in front of their eyes.
The information I was beginning to piece together was not exactly fitting what I got trained in in the school of Body Intelligence Trainings and what I was seeing my cotrainees and other BCST practitioners talking about as answers to common questions. I knew that what I was seeing seemed to be a finer version of the same method in that my approach seemed lesser invasive and/or lesser doing than what they were talking about and had more resonances with other universal therapeutic how-tos and what continues to amaze me is that the resonances are with the best practices of these other schools of healing. I have not been cherry picking best practices. I seem to be tuning into a field where the puzzle pieces happens to be the best practices of variegated schools of healing. Today, I call this field Life. I dont know if there is another name for it but I guess if there is, and it is a necessary perspective to include that would bring further clarity to the puzzle and/or the question of healing/doing the right thing, then I will include it. And the story is getting interestinger/deeper. The latest perspective in my inquiry is the idea of Yggdrasil or the World Tree of Life. I must be doing something right that such amazing, awesome necessities are showing up as quintessential elements to keep in mind in the process of enabling healing, for it is in the schema of things healing Earth since all Life is interconnected. Meristem Intelligence seems to be a method that honors the continuity of Order from the microcosm to the macrocosm and the beautiful Circle of Life, which is also a Hoop.
